English Study Guide

The study guide is meant for senior students of University faculties. The aim of the study guide is to improve students' reading, writing and speaking skills and to enlarge their vocabulary with topical terminology. The study guide consists of seven units and each unit contains the basic texts on the special topics and a number of exercises. Particularly, students are offered to learn the following topics on social and political themes: "Religion", "Human Rights", "Leadership", "Globalization", "Political Correctness", "Racial and Ethnic Relations", "Groups and Organizations", "War and Peace" and so on. The after-text exercises are of communicative orientation and represented by a great variety of multiple choice tasks, gapped texts and matching the words and expressions with their definitions assignments, as well as a wide range of urgent discussion points devoted to the topical issues. Writing tasks are aimed at developing students' abilities to express their views and opinions on the topics related to their future professions.
