Covers the foundations of mathematics needed by students on courses with little or no mathematical content. In this book students do all the necessary maths up to and including basic calculus. Bridging the gap between secondary and tertiary mathematics courses, it is suitable for students with little mathematical background who are embarking on science and engineering courses. The book can be used on its own or prior to using the authors' "Mathematics in Engineering and Science".
