Description
The story of the railways, tramways and metro in Dublin, a city which has long suffered from congestion on its roads.Over the decades, the authorities ignored the railways, and closed the city's tram system, one of the largest in Europe, before renewed investment from the 1980s saw the development of additional lines and stations, the DART, the Luas, and proposals for Metro North, Metro West and the Dublin Interconnector. The book also covers the future Luas plans and proposals for Bus Rapid Transit, and its generous illustration shows the important role rail and guided transport plays in keeping the city moving.
