Description
Born into a world of magic wielders without any powers of her own, Keriya Nameless isn't exactly hero material, yet the goddess Shivnath chooses her to save the world's last living dragon. She doesn't know why it happened, and frankly she doesn't care-this is her chance to prove her worth. Unfortunately for Keriya, countless others are determined to get their hands on that dragon-everyone from smugglers to kings, from the Empress of Allentria to the most powerful warlord who ever lived. It would be a perilous task for even the bravest of heroes, let alone a naive 14-year-old-girl, and as Shivnath's chosen dragon speaker, Keriya quickly learns that she's at the centre of an age-old war ...a war that will decide the fate of everything.

Although she is a New York City native, Elana was raised in a fairly small and quiet town in the suburbs of Queens. Due to a lack of cable television, she grew up preferring books and resorted to creating her own stories rather than watching them on screen. She fostered this love of reading and writing throughout her teen years, which is when she began work on Dragon Speaker. In high school, Elana created a trilogy of feature-length epic fantasy movies, which engendered her love for filmmaking. She mainly focused on film throughout college, and her book series lay somewhat forgotten as she spent a majority of her time on more and more elaborate and ambitious movie projects. She graduated college early with honors and returned to New York to embark on her first professional feature film project. Without any formal training or any contacts in the industry, Elana assembled a stellar cast and crew to film the 95-minute indie comedy, which she wrote, directed and produced. It went on to win numerous awards at film festivals around the country and procured distribution in 2012.Elana returned to her book series shortly after completing work on a number of smaller film projects, and Dragon Speaker has been her main focus for the past two years. She connected with Pen Works Media in 2015 and is very excited about the release of her novel in July of this year. Five percent of all book sales from the opening week, including pre-orders, will be donated to charity, since Elana is a strong animal rights activist, and since one of the major story lines in Dragon Speaker revolves around a character who can communicate with animals.
