Weather

Weather is a popular theme in nursery and reception classes as it is something that all young children are aware of and it has a very immediate effect on all of their lives. Each chapter in this book takes a different aspect of weather and provides practical activities across the curriculum. The chapters cover sun, rain, wind, clouds and fog, and snow and ice. There are linking photocopiable activity sheets as well as ideas for displays and simple assemblies. A photocopiable resources section gives an anthology of poems, action rhymes, stories and songs, all based on the weather theme. A topic web shows how the activities will help to prepare young children for both the National Curriculum and the Scottish 5-14 Guidelines.
