Oxford First Book of Science

A full-colour, first science book for children aged 6 to 8, this text aims to capture young children's interest and open their minds to science. In presenting and explaining the themes of science, the book aims always to relate to the child's everyday experiences. The focus of the book is on practical applications, not theory and readers are involved throughout, by means of activities and experiments. Full colour, child-friendly artwork makes the science accessible and fun. Topics are developed over several spreads where necessary and are designed to compliment National Curriculum Key Stage 1 and early Key Stage 2. There are also included simple, fun experiments and activities requiring no special equipment.
