Review:"The recipes in 'The
Colourful Kitchen Collection' are not only nutritionally sound because they are
expertly crafted by ION graduates and the most respected nutrition
professionals in the country, they are all utterly delicious too. When you can
combine sound nutritional science, with culinary magic, indulgence and the
pleasure of eating, then you have the most pleasurable way imaginable to care
for your long-term wellbeing and take daily steps towards better health." - Dale Pinnock, The Medicinal Chef
"As a nutritionist and
lifestyle medicine professional, I find this cookbook a remarkable blend of
practical advice, scientific insight, and culinary creativity. It's more than
just a collection of recipes-it's a well-rounded guide to understanding the intricate
relationship between soil fertility, nutrient density, and overall human
health." - Dr Fraser Quin, BSLM
Executive Director
"A beautiful culinary
road map to eating a "rainbow diet"! For years, I've been talking about why
it's important to eat all the colors found in nature, and this delightful book
tells you how to do it in a way that is artful, soulful, and full of flavor. A
must for every kitchen!" - Deanna Minich, PhD, author of The Rainbow Diet." - Dr Deanna Minich, nutrition scientist,
international lecturer, teacher, and author
"Delicious and mouthwatering! This is not just a
cookbook with colourful, nutrient-dense recipes but an information source about
why soil fertility matters, where to get different phytochemicals and what the
benefits are of a rainbow diet. The little snippets about fermented foods,
gluten/dairy free or vegan options and much more, allow each home cook to
personalise their plate for their needs, supporting the ethos of personalised
healthcare we believe in at BANT. Let's get cooking!" - Satu Jackson, BANT CEO
"An all-encompassing
cookbook of real food, The Colourful Kitchen Collection is a must have for
everyone looking for delicious recipes that help your health." - Sam Feltham, Director of Public Health

Welcome to The Colourful Kitchen Collection: Recipes for Health and Wellbeing from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION). In this book you will find 80 recipes from people who have studied nutrition with ION. These are some of our alumni's favourite recipes for health and wellbeing: food they recommend to their clients and enjoy in their homes. With each recipe, we've included some information about each contributor and their explanations of why they love their dish so much.
Each recipes in this book has been tested and carefully edited by Catherine Morgan and Hatty Wilmoth, and photographed by ION alumna Joy Skipper. Design is by Daniela Pop and Salman Anjum.
The Colourful Kitchen Collection is not a diet book. No diet suits everybody, which is why ION promotes the idea of personalised nutrition.
The ION is a higher education charity that offers training to those who are new to nutrition, to qualified nutritional therapy practitioners and to allied healthcare professionals looking to expand their practice.
