Assessing Level 1 Reading

Each book in the Assessing Pupils' Progress series provides a bank of creative, engaging, independent Literacy or Mathematics activities, structured by National Curriculum level and Assessment Focus. The activity sheets provide a convenient way to complement your range of evidence for Assessing Pupils' Progress, the official formative assessment approach used by all schools from September 2009. Teachers can dip into the book to find activities that will help them quickly collect evidence for a specific Assessment Focus. This will be helpful for filling in gaps in evidence for a particular pupil, group or class. Every activity is also matched to the Primary Frameworks for Literacy and Maths, to help teachers as they use APP to inform their planning. Literacy titles include APP-aligned activities for reading and the new speaking and listening criteria. The CD-ROM provides all the activity sheets as PDFs and Word documents, which can be edited by the teacher to personalise the activities.
