Preshanthan Moodley is a Senior Researcher in environmental engineering at The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in Durban South Africa. He has an extensive publication list in high impact international Elsevier journals including Bioresource Technology, Energy Conversion and Management, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and Industrial Crops and Products. He has a strong background in biotechnology, microbiology, bioprocess engineering and chemical engineering. He has edited a book titled "Recent Advances in Lignocellulosic Biofuel Production Systems? for Elsevier, as well as written and published 15 book chapters and peer-reviewed papers. Prof. Cristina Trois is a Full Professor in Environmental Engineering and serves as South African Research Chair in Waste and Climate Change (SARCHI) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), in Durban. She is also the Chair of the joint secretariat for the Southern Africa Region of UN-IPLA Program (International Partnership for Expanding Waste Management) and the International Waste Working Group for the Southern Arica Region. Prof. Trois has over 20 years of experience in waste management, through designing and delivering multi-million rand/dollars projects in South Africa and across the wider continent. She is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Her expertise lies in Environmental/Geo-Engineering, Waste and Climate Change, Waste and Resources Management, Renewable Energies, and Climate mitigation.
