Maurice Lovelace is a failed politician with a secret: his alter ego Constance Verity, much-loved by women's magazines. But both careers are brought to a halt by a freak accident. Whilst the government prefers Maurice in a comatose state, it is a worry to Constance's fashion-conscious weekly.
