Description
Carboxy phenyl (meth) acrylates and carboxy phenyl (meth) acrylamides, are distinct class of functional polymers which finds variety of applications as specialty of the polymers, because the aromatic phenyl ring can be modified by well known substitution reactions which gives wide scope for synthesizing tailor - made polymers. In recent years they are found a lot of applications such as lithographic applications, liquid crystalline properties and antimicrobial properties. The carboxy phenyl acrylamide and carboxy phenyl methacrylamide, acrylic copolymers have antimicrobial property which plays an important role for many of its applications, such as contamination by microorganisms is of great concern in several areas like medical devices, health care products, water purification systems, hospital and dental equipments. Acrylic copolymers, which have antimicrobial activity, are used as polymeric drugs in pharmaceutical field.

I complete my Ph.D degree Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur under the guidance of Prof S..Venkata Naidu. After completion of the Ph.D., I worked as a Post doctoral fellow at NTHU, NCHU,DKU, Taiwan and South Korea (2008-2012). During this period I have synthesized comb coil diblock copolymers and characterized by SAXS technique.
