Chris Modafferi is an Italian-American editor-turned-writer. In 2015, she moved to London with one big dream: to work in publishing. Since then, she's worked at Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury and Scholastic, where she nurtured talent and brought beautiful, often hilarious books to life as an editor. Chris is obsessed with her orange cat, Frodo, and her tuxedo cat, Dracula. Her first authored children's non-fiction book, Earth's New Animals, was published by Hachette in 2025.
Magdalena Konecna (Illustrator)
Magdalena Konecna was born in Adamov, Czech Republic. She studied typography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where she now lives. In addition to typography and design, she excels in watercolour illustration. Her main sources of inspiration are her dreams, the natural world and travel. She has previously published six books with Czech publisher Albatros Media.
