Sand casting, as the name implies, is the process of metal casting in which the mould is made of sand. There are mainly two types of sand are found for casting process with respect to their grain size, one is coarse grain sand and another one is fine grain sand. By preparing them in same procedure like moisture content test, clay content test, refractoriness test, strength test, permeability test, flow-ability test, mould hardness test etc., will be done separately to create mould cavity to form desire casting product. The casting product of different sands are chemically and physically different. And their casting defect also different. By examine defects carefully with different procedure and finding their respective remedies, its may easy to modify the casting product. And also can get the knowledge of product for casting with separate grain size sand. So, it may be the process to deploy the knowledge of metal casting into making useful products through this type of sand casting.
