Ja, Stimmt!

"Ja, stimmt!" covers the type of role-play situations which students are likely to encounter in GCSE and Standard Grade examinations. The book is divided into 22 short units. Units 1-12 deal with "survival situations", such as asking for directions or booking in at a youth hostel. In units 13-22 German teenagers discuss topics which concern them, such as school and leisure activities. Each unit begins with the transcript of an authentic recording which serves as a model for the role-play. This dialogue is followed by comprehension work and productive oral exercises. Students then have the opportunity to practise three role-plays themselves, one of which is open-ended. Each unit includes useful vocabulary, and usually a suggestion for written work. The cassette contains the dialogues which were recorded in Germany and the German parts of the practice role-plays.
