Description
The Hodgson Committee in 1984 recommended introducing the power for a Court to confiscate the benefits received by convicted criminals from their crimes. That recommendation was largely implemented by the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 and the Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the resulting extensive judicial power has become an extremely important element in sentencing practice. This book is devoted to the practice and procedure involved in this complex area. In addition, a considerable volume of useful statutory and precedent materials, including specimen indictments, notices, orders and certificates, are reproduced as appendices to the text.
