Power Consumption in Wireless Access Networks:Measurement and Analysis

This book gives an overview of wireless network and related technology and describe in detailed how to calculate the power consumption of base stations for various wireless technologies and provide an analysis of power consumption of the considered technologies with respect to the coverage range, since power consumption is directly related to the coverage area of the base stations. In order to measurement and analysis of the power consumption, the considered technologies are: mobile Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, fixed Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, Universal Mobile Telecommunications System, High Speed Packet Access and Long Term Evolution.
