Reviews / Votes
A world of adventure without leaving the house. Sir Ranulph Fiennes Shark Island is exactly the sort of adventure thriller I would have devoured when I was a youngster. It has all the ingredients ... emotional highs and lows ... and the wonderful idea of two scared kids forced to be action heroes to rescue the unfortunate adults. Reminiscent of Treasure Island this is a wonderful adventure story set in the modern world with love, loss, the menace of violent pirates, the nightmare of darkly threatening jungle and the fear of a suddenly alien lonely world, all challenged by the constancy, courage and togetherness of two children ... A cracking read. Joe Simpson, mountaineer and author of Touching the VoidMore details
