Atlas of World History

This atlas spans the whole of history from the formation of the earth until the late 20th century. Each page contains detailed colour maps, accompanied by clear, explanatory text. Step-by-step sequences describe such things as the growth and decline of empires, and the movements of armies. Picture maps illustrate ways of life, and trade and exploration routes. Throughout, the maps are fully labelled so that places are seen in context. Works of art, significant people, buildings and artifacts are shown in illustrations and photographs. A 16-page reference section at the end includes time charts, world maps, and a glossary. There are full placenames and general indexes.
