Description
Meet
the Signing Friends - a series focused on helping you and your child learn
Makaton at story time. Produced in association with the Makaton Charity.
Each
book features colourful and inclusive illustrations alongside stories that
utilise vocabulary from the Makaton Communication Programme. Inside
you'll find a QR code which will take you to a bespoke video demonstrating how
to sign the text so that you can in turn read and enjoy the book with your
child/ren. Please note Makaton signs and symbols are not featured in the
book. There will be supporting resources available for each title.
Join Poppy and her friends as they find all their
favourite things to see. What will YOU see today?
This delightful starter book features a repetitive
phrase "I See..." combined with a new concept/sign on each double page spread.
The Let's Get Started Series of books aims to have a very accessible signing
format with 1-3 signs per spread.
Each spread will feature the concept in isolation on
one side and the concept in context alongside one of the Signing Friends on the
other. At the end, you will be able recall all the images from the story
together in a double page spread. Hopefully this will also prompt
interactions/signing about other things you may have seen today too.
