Humor is an integral part of the Canadian identity, and we have a truly unique way of looking at ourselves and the world. Our greatest joy is found in irreverence, poking fun at our own stereotypes - shorts in the snow, beavers in the bush, love in a canoe - or by tweaking the nose of the grumbling giant to the South. We see the chaotic and the absurd all around us, and through irony, parody, and satire we laugh when facing the truth, or at times to avoid crying. What a nation finds funny, and how it embraces humor, is key to what makes a nation great. And we are a great nation!
