Acceleration and Transport of Energetic Particles Observed in the Heliosphere

The ACE-2000 Symposium summarizes experimental and theoretical aspects of the acceleration and transport of high-energy particles in space. Included are new results from NASA's Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) and other spacecraft on particles accelerated by the Sun and by interplanetary shocks, and on the acceleration of cosmic rays by supernova blast waves. Topics include: solar energetic particles, interplanetary acceleration, anomalous and galactic cosmic rays in the heliosphere, and cosmic rays in the galaxy.
