Pyrrhus

Set in Ancient Greece, the world of this novel about AIDS is simultaneously that of the 1980s New York bath-houses. Pyrrhus is deputed to seduce the dying Philoctetes away from the island where he has been exiled. Odysseus has been told that only if Pyrrhus is reclaimed, will victory be theirs.
