Description
Discover what's really going on behind the garage doors in this lift-the-flap picture book.
Mr Bear's car has broken down, but luckily he's a mechanic! Help him to fix it by lifting the flaps to check each part of the car - and look out for his friends, sleepy Mr Mouse and lazy Mr Crocodile. Will Mr Bear now be able to make it through the heavy traffic? It's looking good, until... Oh no, smoke! Better get back to the garage.

Reviews / Votes
Surprises abound in this cheeky lift-the-flap book as Bear, a grouchy mechanic in blue coveralls, gets help (of a sort) from his animal friends--and readers--when his red convertible needs fixing. Lifting flaps for the hood and trunk reveals Crocodile fooling around, while an enormous double-page panel flips up to put the car on a lift. Animal mischief continues when Bear hits the road (looking inside a police vehicle reveals that it has been commandeered by pig bandits). The retro aesthetic of Merlin's muted acrylics call to mind Richard Scarry's Busytown books; readers should enjoy teasing out each of the book's hidden secrets. * Publishers Weekly *More details

Christophe Merlin has always dreamed of being a racing driver. The best result he's ever had in a race, however, is a broken ankle and a year off, which he dedicated to drawing. He has written and illustrated several books for children. Christophe lives and works in Paris and shares his time between art and rebuilding old cars.
