Description
Multimedia-Communication services and applications are increasingly successful on the Web/Internet. Their providers evolved to strong competitors of conventional Communication Service Providers (CSPs). To increase competitiveness, in upcoming specifications and standards, the Telecommunication industry is adopting technologies and concepts that enable an integration of Telecommunication systems and the Web/Internet. This research project proposes the concept of a Web-Telecom Convergence Application Delivery Platform (ADP) that integrates Web, Internet and Telecommunication services for the development, deployment and delivery of innovative applications. The work analyzes major stakeholder goals and evaluates existing proposed solutions. From that, it derives requirements and core concepts, specifies a logical and technical architecture, and validates the results through ADP and Web-Telecom Converged application prototype implementations.
