Description
Over 1,450 exercises based on real-life situations aim to help students learn business statistics concepts. The exercise sets following the sections are divided into 3 types: conceptual, skill and application. The supplementary Exercises at the ends of the chapters are divided into two types: application, and interpretive. Symbols identify the areas of business to which the exercises are applied. Tips on problem solving appear throughout the text to assist students with difficult topics and techniques. Most chapters end with a case study meant to unify statistical concepts and procedures and demonstrate how these concepts and procedures are applied to solving business, economics and management problems. These cases also help to strengthen students' communication skills. Examples of computer printouts using popular statistical computing software such as EXECUSTAT, Minitab, and SAS show students the power and time saving capabilities of the computer in solving statistical problems.
