Can you survive the loss of a child? Patricia Meier knows you can because she's lived it. She lived through 15 months of caring for her five year old daughter with brain cancer. She lived through the loss of her child and her marriage. She's lived through fielding "helpful" suggestions from friends and family, through navigating the medical system, and through putting her life back together. The morning of December 6, 2001, Alexandra Avis Kennedy was born. She had beautiful blue eyes and the fingers of a pianist. She was a dainty little blonde and perfect in every way. Patricia's heart's desire had come true. Four short years later, the dream turned into a nightmare, after Patricia received the devastating news that Alexandra had a life-threatening brain tumour; one that eventually took her life. This is a mother's journey from the darkness back to the light.
