Description
'It seems impossible to give this book an appropriate title. Primarily it is a collection of wise and witty sayings of the judges. For over 650 years - ever since the reign of Edward I - reporters of one kind or another have been recording the words used by the judges while doing their offices; and in that span the long judicial tradition of fine language and delicate and penetrating wit has produced many flowers.'
