Marni McGee has treasured books and words ever since childhood. In addition to her award-winning picture books, she has written poetry, easy readers, histories, and historical fiction. Her favourite things include reading, theatre, music, travel, beach walks, and, most of all, her children and grandchildren. She lives in Santa Barbara, California with her husband. Alison Edgson was born in County Down in Northern Ireland and now lives near Newport in Wales. When she's not illustrating children's books, Alison spends most of her free time chasing her chickens out of the vegetable garden and brushing the cat, and loves walking her dogs in the countryside.
