Moira McCarthy (Plymouth, MA) is a well-known parent in the diabetes community. She currently serves as the national Chairman of Government Advocacy of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and volunteers as a Bag of Hope delivery mom to newly diagnosed families and as part of the On Line Diabetes Team that answers diabetes questions within 24 hours to any one dealing with issues surrounding Type 1. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Clara Barton Camp for Girls with Diabetes, one of the nation's oldest and best-known diabetes camps.
