Dr. Patricia A. McCormack is the Chair and Curator of Ethnology, Provincial Museum of Alberta. She first went to Fort Chipewyan in 1968, and for the past 21 years she has visited the community and undertaken ethnohistoric studies of the region. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on the transformation of land uses and impacts on Native residents as Canadian and provincial governments expanded their regulatory activities in the region. Most recently, she developed Northwind Dreaming, a major exhibit and catalogue about Fort Chipewyan at the Provincial Museum of Alberta to commemorate its bicentennial anniversary.
R.G. Ironside is a Professor at the Department of geography, University of Alberta. He, in addition to serving as conference chair, teaches in the Department of Geography, where he is advising Andrew Haden.
