The God Enquiry

For as long as Brendan McCarthy can remember, he has been intrigued by the question of God's existence. He has discovered that he is not alone in this fascination. This book has been born out of numerous conversations with honest enquirers, fearful doubters, ardent believers and convinced atheists. More than that, it has been born out of a desire to conduct a personal, open and honest enquiry into the possible existence and nature of God. This is not a work of Christian apologetics; there is no attempt to convince anyone of anything. Rather, it is an invitation to look over the author's shoulder as he thinks his way through what he considers to be the most important issues with regard to belief in God. This book takes an informed, personal look at the question of God's existence and nature, but unlike most books of its kind, it does not seek to prove a point or to argue its readers into either belief or non-belief. Respecting the integrity of everyone involved in this debate, it maps a clear and accessible path through the maze of science, philosophy and theology, enabling the reader to come to his or her own conclusions.
