Description
This publication gives a detailed overview of China's economic development since 1978, i.e. the Chinese reform period. After a short introduction which covers the most important historical events in the PR of China as well as the basics of the Chinese economy, the second part of the study deals with economic growth (which was exceptional) occurring in China over the last 30 years. One important part of the study also deals with the problems of mainstream economics to explain China's historically unprecedented economic boom. The third part of the study deals with income distribution and a discussion concerning the sustainability of China's development.
