This is a 28 card boxed deck with stunning black and white imagery from Wil Kinghan. The cards are split into seven sub-sections of four which consider each aspect of John Dee's expertise from astrologer to mathematician and also brings into focus other contemporaries and brilliant people from other eras with parallel experience. Elizabeth I also makes an appearance in the deck as 'Gloriana' which is a beautiful bonus card. The artwork is gorgeous and really brings the card characters' stories to life.



The qualities of each card's genius can be used in the oracle reading in conjunction with specific placements on John Dee's Talisman of the Golden Temple. For people who are familiar with Tarot, the Talisman placements are very similar to the elemental worlds of Air, Earth, Fire and Water and the central placement relating to the querent. The guidebook also tells us what each card means in each of the placements. As well as detailed instruction into how to ask questions and carry out readings using the cards, John Matthews tells us how we can also use the cards to scry, for meditation and also introduces the reader to the power of the Enochian alphabet.



This Oracle deck is totally unique and a beautiful, informative addition to any Oracle deck lover's collection. I have learned a lot from the pages of this guidebook which has enabled me to carry out card readings based around the original and magickal work of John Dee. I look forward to practising more with the cards themselves and also mixing them in with other card readings.
