Phoenix Mercury

One of the WNBA's original eight teams, the Phoenix Mercury was founded in 1997. Although it took the team a decade to win its first championship, the Mercury repeated the feat twice, in 2009 and 2014. The Phoenix team has featured some of the best players in the history of the WNBA--including Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi. Coached by Nate Tibbetts, the Mercury has struggled to win a fourth title but remains a regular contender in the playoffs.
