Description
When Barney Unwin's hair inexplicably falls out, leaving him totally bald, he can't work out which is worse: his friends at school disowning him, or his mother's terrible ideas for finding a solution. Barney's mum will do anything to get his angelic blond curls back. She begins by trying lotions and potions on him and working her way through improbable medicinal diets, terrible hats and unspeakable wigs; Barney wonders how much positive hair therapy he can stand. Luckily, she eventually realises that it's Barney she loves, not his hair. Meanwhile, Barney finds that his new look isn't all bad - he's quite comfortable with it. When he's given a starring role in the class play, the opportunity for a new image is too good to miss. At the end of the day, Barney knows who the real Barney is, and this belief gradually wins friends and family round. They come to understand that Barney is the same person, hair or no hair.
