Worry-Guts: Small Book

Part of the "Pelican Big Books" series, this story has a teaching focus on identifying and discussing the issue and theme of coping with anxiety and on the use of expressive and descriptive language. The series has been specifically written for the shared reading part of the literacy hour and supports the genre requirements of the National LiteracyStrategy. Teacher's notes are included at the back of each Big Book, providing ideas for Text, Sentence and Word level activities. Smaller versions of the Big Books allow for follow-up work in groups and teacher's notes provide ideas for group work.
