50 years of the Red Arrows

For five decades the RAF's Red Arrows have amazed and entertained millions of people right around the world with their breathtaking formation aerobatic displays. This commemorative edition tells the story of the Reds, as they are affectionately known, from their creation out of the 1964 Yellowjacks Gnat team when they adopted a distinctive bright red paint scheme in 1965. 50 Years of the Red Arrows highlights some of the 4,500 displays in fifty-five countries, discusses the change to the BAe Hawk in 1979, introduces some of the pilots and illustrates the Reds' rise to the pinnacle of excellence and universal acclaim today.
