Description
Constitutive Models for Rubber XII is a comprehensive compilation of the oral and poster contributions to the XII European Conference on Constitutive Models for Rubbers (Milan, Italy, 7-9 September 2022). As the first after the COVID Pandemic, the XII edition again brought together researchers from the industry and the academia working in the field of elastomer technology and science to discuss the most recent advancement in the following topics:
* Constitutive models
* Micro-structural investigations
* Experimental methods and characterization
* Numerical methods
* Fatigue and fracture
* Aging
* Industrial applications
* Smart elastomer materials: applications and modelling
Including more than 80 contributions from authors from around the world, this book aims at professionals and academics interested in elastomer technology and science.

Claudia Marano has a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Universita degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza" (1993). After a two-years training course within the Italian National Research Program on innovative Advanced Materials, she attended a High School Degree in "Science of Polymer" at the Politecnico di Milano (graduation in 1999), where she is now associate professor. The teaching activity included the re-design or design of several courses for the Bachelor and Master Science Degrees in Industrial Design of Politecnico di Milano and for the Bachelor Science Degree in Materials Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. The research activity concerns the study of the structure-property correlation in polymeric materials, mainly in relation to amorphous and semycristalline polymers yielding and rubber fracture behaviour.
Francesco Briatico Vangosa has a MSc in Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 1998. PhD in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2002. Assistant professor at Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering departiment of Politecnico di Milano from 2002. Francesco Briatico Vangosa taught in several courses of Industrial and Information Engineering and PhD schools of Politecnico, Milano. He presently teaches the following courses: "Materiali polimerici", "Principles of polymer processing", "Physico-mechanical characterization of materials - Dynamic Mechanical Analysis and Rheometrey". His research is in the field of polymers and polymer matrix composites, aiming at investigating the process - structure - physico-mechanical properties. His main research interests are polymer processing and viscoelasticity of polymeric gels for application in the pharmaceutical or bionegineering sector.
Luca Andena has a MSc in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2001. PhD in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2005. Assistant researcher at Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering departiment of Politecnico di Milano from 2005 to 2008. He has been appointed Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Technology in 2008 in the same department. Luca Andena taught in several courses of Industrial and Information Engineering, Design and PhD schools of Politecnico, Milano. He presently teaches the following courses: "Materiali polimerici e progettazione", "Materials selection criteria and methods", "Materie plastiche", "Perspectives on material investigation techniques", "Physico-mechanical characterization of materials". He has a deep interest in technology and physical-mechanical properties of polymer, composites and adhesives. His research, focused on the determination of structure-properties relationships, has been characterized by an experimental approach often paired with numerical modelling of the materials' mechanical behaviour. His main research interests are fracture and tribology of polymers, sports surfaces, polymeric foams. He is involved in many industrial projects, mainly in the automotive, packaging and sports engineering sector.
Roberto Frassine received his PhD in Materials Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in 1988, and is since 2007 a full professor of Polymeric and Composite Materials at the Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department of the Politecnico di Milano. His research interest include: Viscoelastic properties of polymers and composites. Time-dependent yield and fracture of polymers and composites. Processing-structure and structure-properties relationships for polymers. Impact, fatigue and dynamic fracture of polymers. Roberto Frassine published more than 70 peer-reviewed technical and scientific international publications, and is President of Assocompositi,the Italian composites industry association (since 2005), Director of the Polymer Testing Laboratory facilities at the Politecnico di Milano (since 2010), President of EuCIA, the European composites industry association (since 2013), and President of UNIPLAST, the Italian national standards organization for plastics and composites (since 2016). From 2011 to 2013 Frassine was President of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE, Europe).
