Description
2007 marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights. It was a moment for celebration, but also for reflection on the achievements and the limitations of the commission. The purpose of this book was not only to mark the 20th anniversary but also to popularize understanding of the work of the commission. These essays review the achievements of the commission, and two interviewed commissioners, the Special Rapporteur on Refugees and Displaced Persons in Africa and the Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression in Africa, talk about their work. The essays are published here in both English and French.
