Description
Multicarrier communication is a method of transmitting data by splitting into several components, and sending each of these components over separate carrier signals. The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the efficient multicarrier communication techniques. Channel estimation has been an important task in wireless communication systems. Novel methods for OFDM channel estimation and ICI reduction are presented in this book. Addressing the channel estimation problem, three new methods are presented. A new method using GCG class of adaptation laws is proposed for adaptive OFDM downlink. A novel method based on Step-Variable LMS (SV-LMS) algorithm is proposed for channel estimation. The third channel estimation method is based on Multi-Scale Singular Value Decomposition (MS-SVD). Considering the issue of mitigating ICI at the receiver, an optimal method is proposed for ICI Self Cancellation.
