Description
Reliability optimization is an important field in the field of reliability engineering which has gained more attention in the literature in the middle of the twentieth century. At the beginning, it was applied to communication and information systems. The main objective of this subject is to enhance the reliability of a system. The topic 'Reliability Optimization' was appeared in the literature in late 1940s. It was first applied to transportation and communication system. After that, this topic took place as an important field in reliability engineering and researchers/practitioners were attracted to tackle the problems. The objective of this book is to formulate and solve several types of reliability optimization problems (which have not been reported in the existing literature) in different environments (i.e., crisp, stochastic, fuzzy and interval) with the help of advanced genetic algorithm and Big-M penalty technique. A salient feature of this book is that most of the chapters have been written in a lucid manner with sufficient examples. This book will create interests among academicians, OR/GA practitioners and executives of different industries.
