Description
Kinematic analysis of front suspension of an automobile using experimental observations and most popular tool Denavit Hertenberg formulation of 3D mechanisms is reported. Steering performance parameters kingpin angle, caster angle, camber angle, toe angle, scrub radius, toe in and toe out of front suspension of vehicle are determined based on the position of kingpin axis. Experimental setup simulating front suspension for measuring steering geometry is developed. New technique presents the prediction of vehicle performance from the point of view of steering performance and comparison of steering performance of other vehicles.
