Alan MacDonald started his working life in a travelling theatre company. In addition to writing and directing plays, Alan trained as a drama teacher. He has written stories and dramas for the BBC (both television and radio), as well as many children's books. Alan lives in Nottingham.
Nigel Baines has worked for many years as a book designer and children's book illustrator. Series he has illustrated include Yuck! by Matt and Dave (S&S), Hank Zipzer by Henry Winkler (Walker). He also illustrated Do Igloos Have Loos? by Mitchell Symons, which was winner of a Blue Peter Book Award in 2011. He lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
