Rob Macdonald is an experienced writer and director, having over 20 years experience creating stories, primarily for screens of all sizes. Rob co-wrote, produced and directed an 8 part narrative comedy for the ABC called I ROCK and has produced hundreds of hours of content for commercial clients. He currently has a crime comedy project in development with a prominent Melbourne-based production company. Smith Bros. began its life as an idea for television before becoming Rob's debut novel. Rob is a lifelong fan of crime fiction but has a soft spot for the likes of Carl Hiaasen, Elmore Leonard and Tim Dorsey. A desire to turn the conventions of modern Australian Noir up to eleven, while also adding in a dose of humour, led to the writing of his debut novel: SmithBros. Rob lives in the Southern Highlands of NSW with his wife Beth and three daughters.
