Learning to Choose

Recent JRF-supported research highlighted the importance of training for people with learning difficulties in all aspects of the recruitment process and the shortage of suitable training material for use with and by people with learning difficulties. This work aims to stimulate progress in this area by offering a training and evaluation programme to services in the statutory, voluntary and private sectors. This guide offers service-wide training for service users, front-line staff, service managers and policy makers on the issues surrounding the involvement of people with learning difficulties in staff recruitment. The authors outline the realistic future action plans and training guidelines for other services wishing to make progress in this area.
