Description
Fifth in the Michael Moreland series--after Michael's Secret, No Secrets, Secrets Lie Still, and Secrets Worth Keeping--Secrets of the Heart follows life at Highfield as the war in Europe spreads around the globe. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, subsequent Japanese attacks on British, French, Dutch, and Chinese targets in Pacific waters confirm that the war that began in Europe in 1939 has indeed become World War II. As Nazi U-boats appear in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, threatening the security of those at Highfield, some enemies become allies in the world of espionage monitored by Sir Richard and Britain's Secret Intelligence Service. The Moncrieff family follows their sons' exploits as Nigel and Boyd sail with the Royal Navy, defending British interests in the Indian Ocean. In the midst of a world torn apart by deadly conflict, some find the freedom to reveal their hidden secrets of the heart.
