Early Abbasid Coinage

This catalogue publishes the British Museum's collection of coins from the early Abbasid caliphate. The coins are catalogued within three broad groups - gold dinars, silver dirhams and copper fals - according to a typology based on inscriptions. Indexes of mints and names are also included.
