Leonie Lord studied illustration at Central St. Martin's College before becoming an editorial illustrator (whose clients included the Sunday Telegraph and the Guardian) and, then, a picture book illustrator. Born in Gloucestershire, and after spells in London and Sydney, Leonie now lives in Cheltenham with her husband and two boys.
