Bernadette Murphy's life has been ticking along-new career, new romance, new peace with past losses. Yet she finds herself emotionally stuck, wearing an engagement ring on a leather cord around her neck instead of on her finger. When her brother dies suddenly, her world is rocked, yet her sister-in-law, Jenny, launches into survival mode within hours of the funeral. Bernie is astounded by Jenny's strength until the evening she shows up holding a battered canvas journal from her brother's childhood in which he listed larger-than-life travel destinations. Determined to live out her brother's bucket list, Bernie puts her mom, her dog, her best friend's angsty teenager, and Jenny in a borrowed RV and sets out on a cross-country adventure of a lifetime. While she hopes to find healing in reaching the trip's destinations, she soon learns the true magic is found in the moments lived along the way. But Bernie can't run forever.
