The Oxford English Programme

Designed as part of a programme which takes students through the levels of attainment appropriate for GCSE within Key Stage 4 of the National Curriculum, this student's text contains three modules that cover speaking, listening, reading and writing, along with features and activities. The book investigates a wide range of forms within the genres of narrative, poetry and drama. Module 1 provides material on autobiographical writing, journals, diaries, letters, travel writing, myths, legends and folk tales, short stories, picture stories and novels. Module 2 covers ballads, lyric verse, dramatic monologues, syllabic verse, free verse, sonnets and limericks. The final module contains information on radio plays, screenplays, TV scripts, improvisation and directing.
